Bean counters, number crunchers… there are many names that accountants are given. However, regardless of the name there’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that accountants play an integral role in every company. There just aren’t any companies without accountants. Accountants get right down to the nitty gritty of the company’s transactions and correctly classify them to settle each account. Banks have many procedures and regulations they need to follow in order to prove that they are using their clients money wisely while it is on loan to them. Imagine the chaos that would ensue were people to believe that banks were no longer a safe place to keep money.

China industry spotlight: Broadcasting

The world of broadcasting has changed in the past few years. For quite a while, radio played a big part of people’s lives. Then came TV which didn’t replace radio, but it was a distraction. Now fast forward to 2013 and our lives are full of distractions: internet, social media, multiple devices (ipad, iphone, computer, gaming devices, etc). There’s just not much time left to sit around and relax with the radio anymore. It’s lacking in visual stimulation. However, there’s one area where radio still thrives and that’s in the car. It’s not legal to drive and watch a movie, but listening to the radio while driving is something almost everyone does. It’s much more entertaining than listening to your same Adele CD over and over again.
